The minimum wage as of April 2022 in Belarus is 480,96 BYN a month, according to Belarus compensation laws. Employees typically work 40 hours a week and eight hours a day, and they cannot work more than 10 hours a week, 180 hours a year of overtime, or 12 hours a day. Instead of compensating overtime, many employers opt to give time off. However, you should compensate employees at 100% of their regular pay if you do pay for overtime.
Every company expanding to Belarus must provide all benefits guaranteed by the government to stay compliant. You can start with paid time off for holidays and annual leave. Belarus celebrates nine annual holidays, and employees are also entitled to at least 24 business days off each year.
Another guaranteed benefit is 126 days of paid maternity leave for female employees. If they have medical complications or give birth to more than one child, they should get 140 days off. Female employees can also take three years of unpaid maternity leave, with their job secured for them when they return.
